Joe C. Alaniz Jr., 75, of Houston, Texas passed away on November 18, 2014. Joe was born in Richmond, Texas to Joe and Lenora Alaniz on April 18, 1939. He served his country in the United States Army and later married the love of his life, Frances. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Frances, sons, Richard L. Alaniz and wife Karen and Steve L. Alaniz and wife Sara, grandchildren Nina Marie Alaniz, Steve A. Alaniz and wife Jazzel, Richard J. Alaniz and wife Danielle, Rebecca Alaniz and Isaac Alaniz and wife Rebecca. Also left behind are his great grandchildren Judah, Sophia, Mia, Solomon, Jonathan and Benjamin as well as his siblings, Cruz, Antonia, John, Janie, Rosie, Anita, Hermina and Erick. Joe also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 12-9 PM with a rosary at 7 PM. A second rosary will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10 AM with a Funeral Mass taking place at 11 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows. Interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
