My most vivid memory of Mr. Sanchez, was of the Saturday when he wanted to pour an addition to the concrete floor in the garage.
Only Louis was able to help  that day, but called me to ask, if I would come and lend a hand.
Of course, I was there within thirty minutes, arriving in time to see "JOE", large and in charge, surveying the center matt, side matts  & top matt and making sure all was ready. Louis was ready with the cement bags, "Joe" fired up the mixer and we began the job. Louis and I took turns on the wheelburro  pouring the cement into the foundation.    
When the brake  on the bucket of the mixer failed, I had to hold the bucket upright in place for the rest of the job.  
Louis poured the rest and, together he and his dad finished the floor smooth. So level you can play pool on it. A Master Craftsman INDEED!!!
MEANWHILE,  Louis' mother and sister Mary, prepared a steak & potato lunch, we all shared after the job was completed and all tools cleaned and put away.
You can be assured, that floor will still be there, when the garage and the rest of the house are long gone.
I shall treasure the memory of that Saturday forever.

This is a memory of my father that I would like to share with you today.

As a young boy and as an adult I worked along side my dad for many years. 

This was our time.  

During these years we had many conversations and he told me many stories about experiences he had in his life.
I gave a lot of thought to our conversation, and sometimes all that he was telling me was
NOT  “fully revealed” to me until much later in my life and I myself had become a father.  

I now reflect on our time together and realize these were “teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ” from over 2018 years ago!

I also realize the inheritance he left me and my brothers and sisters is abundant!

Like Christ he taught us and left us with learnings such as:

Love, care, and protect your love ones.  For family is everything.  It is our only true inheritance we leave behind on earth.  

Ask for forgiveness and learn to give forgiveness to yourself and others and know that God has forgiven you if you have asked this from him.  Never doubt his love for you.

Never lose your FAITH during your time on earth for all will one day be revealed to us in time.

So this is a memory of my dad and the many, many,  teachings he bestowed upon me and my brothers and sisters,  and I see each and everyone of them as a blessing.

I can never thank you enough dad.

Joe is my father-in-law.  He was a loving and attentive man who always had a warm smile and a kind word to share.  I always felt comfortable and welcome in his home and I have lots of good memories of sitting at the kitchen table listening as he told his tales about the family.  A truly wise one, we could call with just about any question and he would have a good answer.  I am very blessed to have known him and been part of his extended family.

There really are no words that I can share that will fully allow others to understand the powerful, positive impact you have had on my life. You always kept life simple, taught us all to be responsible and accountable but most importantly to embody the word of God in our daily lives.  You put your desires aside and gave us all you could for as long as you could, never a hesitation. You were always willing to lend a helping hand or to offer words of wisdom or comfort. The one thing I never saw you do was "give up." You might have had to work extra hard at times to overcome adversity but you knew relying on the graces of God that you would prevail. I love you and thank you for all that you taught me while we had our time together.

My sweet Uncle Joe,

   As I’m sitting here with dad and listening to all of his stories and memories of you, I want to say thank you for being the best big brother he could ever ask for. 
  There’s one memory he shared with me about how when he worked with you that you  always had to have your whataburger. He said even though there was a Burger King or a McDonalds down the street  you didn’t care because you had to have your whataburger. You would always find one no matter where y’all were.  I tell you I had never seen Dad laugh so hard and  smile so big. 
   So Uncle Joe,  thank you Sir not only for your service  but for being  the best big brother my dad could ever ask for. 
   It’s hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember. Rest In Peace Uncle Joe.

Dearest “Dad” Joe R.,
Knowing you are now  living in perfect health and happiness.  Thank you for always providing for the family!  I Will always remember when you bought the 8mm camera and  took all those home movies of the family! Also, I will always treasure the times you took the family out for ice cream or hamburgers and the times we went to Herman Park and Galveston as well as the time we took a vacation to Ft. Lauderdale.  May you know you will always live on in our hearts.

My Beautiful Uncle Joe,  Thank you for being such a wonderful Big Brother to my Mom .  My fondest memories of you were when I was an infant and you would hold me and I would always pull on your hair ; this is why you lost your hair. I'm glad I got to visit you last time I was in Houston back in 2015.

Rest In Peace Dad. Thank you for all the times you were there for me throughout my entire life. You showed me how to accept life's challenges by giving it all you have everyday and not to be afraid of work. You cared for me when I was young kept me breathing when I would get sick stayed up all night with me sometimes then you would go to work and run your business. You were "DA MAN!"
May you find peace and eternal happiness in the Lord's House.
