Joel Scott Moreland

Joel is survived by his parents; sister, Virginia McMullen & husband William; nieces, Vivienne Ann, and Elizabeth Wynn McMullen; grandparents, Betsy Moreland, Ramona Carter, Victor & Trish Dawson; aunts & uncles, Susan Moreland, Sid & Desiree Moreland, Melanie &Gary Smith, Richard & Cindy Carter, Mark Carter, Mac Carter, Robbie & Debra Carter, and Weylin & Patti Dawson; numerous cousins.

Joel had a 10 year career in the radio industry for many major stations in the Houston area, where he made numerous friends and touched many lives. He started while attending Alvin Community College and continued while he was pursuing his degree at the University of Houston. His caring and giving nature in life continued even after God called him home, as he donated a part of himself to the UT Health and Science Research Center.

A memorial service for Joel will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2 PM in the chapel of Heights Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that monetary donations be made to 89.3 KSBJ radio station.
