Joel Mark Plowman passed away suddenly at the age of 42 on Friday April 9, 2021 at his longtime residence in Houston, Texas. After his birth in 1979 in Panama to evangelical missionary parents, Joel and his family moved to Houston, Texas in 1982.
A 2000 graduate of the University of Houston, Joel worked for a time as a paralegal, among others jobs. Early in life Joel discovered passions for videography, photography and travel, creating and editing video documentaries of his travels to Panama, the Caribbean and the outstanding architecture of Prague, Czech Republic. Most recently he took up painting and was sharing his works on social media.
Joel is survived by his mother Yvonne Plowman of Houston, Texas four brothers (David Plowman of West Chicago, Illinois, Sam Plowman of Charlotte, North Carolina, Andy Plowman of Arlington, Virginia and Ben Plowman of Katy, Texas) along with seven nieces and nephews.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held in the Claire H. Waltrip Venue at Waltrip Funeral Directors, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021.
