Johanna “Jennifer” Anson of Katy, Texas passed away on 8/8/2024 at the age of 59. She was born on April 24th, 1965 in Houston, Texas where she grew up with her two younger brothers. For many years she grew up in Colorado with her family, and grew to love the mountainous scenery of beautiful Colorado.
She lived the majority of her life in Katy, Texas and raised a very large loving family with her husband of 29 years, Jon Anson. Together they raised a total of 6 children, and had 8 grandchildren.
She worked as the best stay at home mom and Oma there ever will be. She spent all of her time fully dedicated to making sure everyone around her had what they needed and could ever want. She brought everyone together with her kind heart, inviting spirit, and all of her amazing food. Jennifer was an avid entertainer and host- she could make the most elaborate charcuterie boards that belonged on the cover of any food magazine.
She was actively involved in church, community events, anything pertaining to her German heritage including the German festival of Tomball, and anything related to gatherings and activities that involved food and family.
She is preceded in death by her mother Johanna Martha Box (Lehnert), and her father Frederick Randolph Box, Sr.
She is survived by her husband Jon Richard Anson, daughter Meagen Leigh Gonzales and husband Adam Wade Gonzales, son Alfredo Garza Anson, son Jose Valentin Anson and wife Elana Elise Anson, son Miguel Angel Anson, daughter Lauren Elaine Pletan and husband Alex Pletan, and daughter Kimmy Acacia Palmer, her grandchildren Amilia, Athena, Jenna, Wade, Olivia, Lily, McKynna, and Parker, her brother Randy Box and wife Kimberly Box, and brother Brett Box.
No matter who you were, if it was your birthday, you could always depend on one thing- a call from Jennifer or “Mom” singing you Happy Birthday- the complete full version- no matter your age. Those phone calls will be missed immensely.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Forest Park Lawndale on August 31st from 10a-12p. Services will be from 12p-2p.
