John is preceeded in death by his wife, Elsie Mittasch; brothers, Herman, Herbert and Gilbert Mittasch. Survived by his sons, Jerry Mittasch and wife, Cindy and Jerald Mittasch and wife Carol; sister, Esther Namken and brother, William Mittasch.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Concordia Lutheran Church, 4115 Blalock, Rev. Russell A. Etzel, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
