

John Martin Redig was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on Friday, October 7, 1921, to parents John C. and Veronica Ann (Jakubik) Redig. While in the arms, hearts and minds of a loving family, John peacefully passed away in Houston, Texas on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the age of 93.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served his country during World War II. He was a retired Project Engineer and loved the time he spent as a Gunsmith. He was a longtime member of both the American Legion Post #654 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8790 in Spring Branch.
John is survived by his beloved of 67 years, Beulah; devoted children, daughter, Ronnie Barriga and husband Bob, daughter, Patty Boyd and husband Ron, son, John "Bubba" Redig, his adored grandchildren and great grandchildren, many other loving family members and dear friends.
Family and friends gathered for a visitation at 10:30am on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at St. Theresa Catholic Church (Memorial Park), 6622 Haskell, where The Rosary, led by Reverend Michael Van Cleve, was recited at 11:40am, the Funeral Liturgy followed at 12:00 noon. The Rite of Committal was then held at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine, with military honors provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8790 Honor Guard. Immediately following the cemetery services, all were invited back to St. Theresa's, where a reception with light refreshments was served.
