Mr. John Anthony Vassallo

After serving honorably in the Korean War, John went to Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and then worked in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area as a pharmacist at Drug Fair where he met and fell in love with Karen Jean Kraus. They were married November 3, 1962 and were blessed with two boys; Michael Robert Vassallo and Keith David Vassallo.

In addition to Karen, Mike, and Keith, John is survived by his sister Teresa Vassallo and brother Phil Vassallo; Mike's lovely wife Heidi Vassallo; his two amazing grandchildren Melanie and Austin Vassallo; and Keith's Partner John Frels.

John always loved a good horse race and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He had an infectious smile and always liked a good laugh. He will be greatly missed!

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Heights Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.
