Johnny Galvan Aranda

Johnny Galvan Aranda with his wife by his side lost his 2 year battle with ALS September 6, 2015. Johnny was born on May 6, 1942 in Houston, TX. Johnny graduated from Jefferson Davis High School and served active Duty in the U.S Air force until his Discharge in 1965. Johnny worked in high school with Hermann Hospital as a respiratory therapist and worked at Standard Register Printing Company (formally known as Rein Printing Company) as a bindery foreman for 37 years and retired in 1999. Johnny was all about family. He was eldest of ten children taking care of his mom and siblings. Johnny had a passion for cooking, swimming and he loved the beach. He also loved barbequing with his lifelong friend Earl Ponce. He loved his animals and most of all he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Johnny was always helping those in need with food, clothing and shelter. He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years Stacy Jean and his five children, Bonnie Morgan, Phyllis Kinnamon (Dennis), Johnny Aranda Jr. (Lily), Theresa Leonard (Jesse) and Carol Tendorf (David). Twelve grandchildren Kristen Aranda, Richard Rodriguez, Jeffery Pope, Robert Level, Kristopher Rodriguez, Carissa Tendorf, Crystal Avery, Brett Rodriguez, Lisa Morgan, Morgan Aranda, Brittany Tendorf and Madison Aranda. Seven great grandchildren Jacob Pope, Jessica Elder, Trinity Level, Jaymie Elder, Leslie Tullos, Jonathon Level and Mackenzie Johnson. He is survived by his siblings Jesse Aranda, Gilbert Aranda, Ignacio Aranda Jr., Carmen Bata, Rudy Aranda, Maria Ramirez, Joe Aranda and Aurora Granados and numerous nieces and nephews He is Proceeded in death by his father Ignacio Aranda Sr., Mother Juanita Galvan Aranda, Brother Richard Aranda (Pelon) and Nephew Greg Aranda. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ALS Houston Chapter in memory of Johnny Aranda “Team Aranda Army”. So we can find a cure so that no one else dies from this horrible disease. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
