Jorge was a good friend while we were in school and will be terribly missed.  God bless his family and friends.  He was always laughing and joking around and talking about the Zoo and animals.

Corps of Cadets brought a bunch of us guys together. Amazing how fast life happens. 

From the second Jorge and I saw each other in the empty hallway in High School sixteen years ago we knew we were going to have something special.  Jorge was my first love, my high school sweetheart, my best friend and vice versa. I will never forget the moments we shared together from our crazy bus rides, to our Conejos (rabbits), to watching sports, to discussing politics and to endless nights of movie watching and more.  I first realized his passion for the military many years ago and knew A&M would change his life forever. I remember his fish year was the hardest and when he wanted to give up, I pushed him harder to succeed and to be the best cadet they ever saw. Jorge definitely succeeded in that and touched so many people with his genuine heart and compassion. He will forever have a special place in my heart. Today I will wear an A&M shirt you have tried to make me wear for sooooooooooo long and I will wear it with pride. I'm even posting the reaction I know you will have up above. LOL. You always knew how to make me smile. I love you and will miss you dearly!

Beth and I first met Jorge when Shirley Marin, now Shirley Willis, was dating Michael Willis.  Shirley was a Squadron 3 Cadet, the same outfit our son, Class of '08.  At a Friday night dinner before a football game, Shirley brought Michael and his two I-1 buddies, Jorge and Juan Moya.  After that dinner, I told Beth that these were three of the finest young men I had ever met.  Over the years, we enjoyed their company.  On game weekends when possible, we would meet Jorge and Juan for dinner and then a coffee at Starbucks.   We had great discussions, often till late at night.  Jorge and Juan told us about their experiences in the Corps of Cadets and hopes for their futures.  We learned more from them about the Corps than from our son!  Jorge was always smiling and upbeat.  I will always remember a football game in November of 2014.  I had been given two tickets and asked Jorge to go with me.  We met early and went to step-off, a tailgate, and then the game.  After the game, we had dinner at Freebird's.  Jorge had a great time, especially being with current I-1 Cadets at the tailgate.  I will always cherish the memory of that day and all of our memories of him.  He was kind and caring, always an inspiration.  We love him and will miss him.




Twelve years on, one of my favorite memories with Jorge was us freezing in the rain and ice together as we practiced our drill routines for the Tulane competition. In all his uniform pictures, he still wore that Fish Drill Team cord with pride. I knew he wouldn't have given up even at the end. After all, he's a National Champion. 

Jorge and I met the summer of 2006 during the Corps of Cadets’ FOW. That day, he became my brother. We both went through the rigors of the Corps together with our buddies. Despite Jorge's health, he still did everything else his buddies did and more.

During our freshman year, he did Fish Drill Team where he won a National Championship. I was always impressed by how tough and driven he was. He’d finish his practices, tired, drenched in sweat, and would come right back to the outfit to continue getting smoked with his buddies even though he did't have to.

I will always remember his positive attitude and general outlook on life. He was tough, driven, a fighter. Things that would keep an ordinary man down, did not for him. He always put GOD, Family and Country first and I know that’s what motivated him to keep going.  

Jorge was a kind man who taught me how to be a better person. I will forever cherish the memories we made together. I know that he is in a better place. Love you dawg, until next time.      

I remember first meeting Jorge when I went over to the quad with our pickup truck to help Shirley Marin move.  (Henry and I were Aggie parents first to Jose Marin ‘06 and then Shirley Marin ‘11.) When I pulled up with the truck, Jorge came out with Shirley and as we talked, I shared that I had grown up in a neighborhood called Denver Harbor in Houston - Jorge did not believe it and I assured him that I had INDEED grown up there - we had a funny conversation about that and he was telling me what ‘colors’ NOT to wear if I ventured back to that neighborhood!  I saw him many times after that and came to know him as a terrific friend to Michael and Shirley Marin Willis.  As so many have mentioned, he had that endearing smile and open heart!  GOD BLESS the Giron family in this time of bereavement!  

Jorge was such a sweet , incredible person who was willing to help someone. Thank you for always listening and making me laugh. 
You  are going to miss my dear friend. My deep condolences to  the Giron family! 

When I think of this young man, I think of the word love. When he was always in my presence he treated me with respect, that is something that we don't see any more out of young people.

I had the distinct honor to not only be a co-worker of Jorge's, but also the honor of having him as a good friend as well. Jorge was as genuine as they come. You could tell from the moment you met him that he was someone that would not steer you wrong and would have your back. He was such a kindhearted, compassionate, funny, intelligent and hard-working young man. When I first started working with Jorge, I could instantly tell that he deeply cared about his work and helping others. Even though there were days you could see that he was not doing well, he still pushed himself to come to work because he cared that much. One of Jorge's greatest attributes was that if you were having a bad day or things were not going well in any aspect of life, he would find a way to make you smile and forget about any issue you had. I will greatly miss having long and in depth conversations with him about politics, current events, sports, movies, pro wrestling, school, or just life in general. Jorge will always be in my heart, he was a great person and friend. He is in God's kingdom now, and at peace. My deepest condolences and prayers to his family and friends.

I first met Jorge in the summer of 2006 during freshman orientation week at A&M, and for the next four years I had the honor of getting to be one of his buddies. Jorge had a natural ability to make friends with anyone. When we were in the Corps there was about 2,000 cadets and after our first year I am pretty sure everyone knew Jorge. He also was a guy who could find something funny in anything. I remember watching his Ol'Lady Bryson give him a Fish haircut in the dorms with a pair of old borrowed electric clippers that we're so dull that they would literally pull chunks of hair out instead of cut them. The entire time he was in pain but laughing and telling Bryson to keep going. After Bryson finished destroying Jorge's hair, Jorge asked Bryson where he got the clippers and Bryson said they were from our other buddy's dad who was a veterinarian. Jorge looked at the clippers and saw on the side it said they were meant for trimming horse hair. Instead of getting mad about the torture he just sat through, or the fact his haircut was plain awful he just laughed and kept laughing. Guys like Jorge don't come around very often, I wish this world was filled with more people like him. Jorge I'm sorry we lost touch, it's been 8 years since we last saw each other, but I know you would still embrace me like a brother. Rest In Peace Jorge Giron

I  too have had the opportunity of visiting with Jorge on many occasions as his YSA Bishop in College Station while he attended Texas A&M University.  He shared his strong testimony of our Savior with me on many occasions. I will always remember his upbeat attitude no matter how bad he felt from his physical infirmaries,  as he told me often," that everything happens for a reason and that my Heavenly Father would never put me through anything I can't handle."  Jorge handled it with Grace and Gratitude. That I will never forget! Thank you Jorge for making me a better person through your example. May you reap the many blessing the Lord has in store for you on the other side of the veil...“Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Matt. 25:21.) Jorge was and is one of the most positive people I have ever met. I have never heard a single complaint from him. He had huge dreams and a huge heart to go with it. Every time I saw Jorge I always left feeling happier. He frequently took time to chat with my boys and they loved razzing him about being an Aggie. He took it with great humor and teased them right back for being Longhorns.  We sure love you Jorge! 

I'll never forget the day I met Jorge. From the moment he knew I was dating his "Old Lady" he immediately embraced me as a sister.  I remember we met on campus at "The Commons".  I was a fish in the Corps, so of course I tried to "whip out" to him lol. He immediately smacked my hand away and pulled me in for a hug instead. He said "Stop that homie ! You're family now". From that day forward Jorge called me his "hermanita" (Spanish for little sister). We shared so many memories together from that day forward! From working together at Lounge D, to being the Best Man at our wedding, to him telling me I was pregnant before even I knew it myself !! Recently we took a trip to South Padre and I planned on taking professional maternity photos while on our trip. But then it occured to me, to let Jorge take our photos instead. It was the best decision I have ever made. If anyone has ever taken a pic for me, you know what Jorgy endured that day 😅 But he had so much fun with it and it meant the world to all 4 of us (Me, Him, Mike, and Macie). Jorge and shared countless of jokes and memories and kept very close touch despite the distance between us.  I think my favorite and most admirable thing about Jorge is that he genuinely thrived on the happiness of others. Truly, I have never ever known anyone who's heart was so filled with joy from watching friends and family be happy. I will miss him SO much!!! I  thank his parents for raising such a fine human being ♡ Jorge has undoubtedly left his mark on everyone he knew.  

Jorge was one of those guys I loved talking to about sports and life.  We worked a part time job in college at one of the student lounges on the Quad and I lost count of the number of times he'd stay after his shift just to talk and help keep me company.  No matter where I was stationed afterwards, if there was a big game, he'd remember to reach out to me and we'd talk as if no time had passed at all.  I'm generally known as a cheerful, upbeat person, but Jorge's constant positivity and zeal for life put mine to shame.  He's one of the best Ags and best people I've ever had the pleasure to know.

I had the privilege of spending many hours with Jorge as his teacher and bishop. He fought his physical fight with courage and faith, always turning outward to lift others despite his own struggles. He is now serving his mission to those who have gone before, but left a piece of his gentle heart with all he has left behind for a season. God’s eternal love and plan will one day return him into the arms of his loved ones. He knew that, and it kept him going . Vaya con Dios my friend. 

Jorge was a joy . He always had a smile for you whether he felt well or not.
He  was a  good and valuable employee .
We have missed him.
He made an impact on others the short time  he was here on this earth.
