There are so many fun memories attached to my Tita. Watching The Price is Right, eating her delicious rice, going to her house for the best bananas, and playing Rummicube and card games. She was always in a good mood, even if she didn't feel good. "Bien, gracias a Dios." So witty and funny, sticking her tongue out at people and playfully rolling her eyes.
But my favorite memory of Tita will forever be this one: She and I were playing "Dolphin" (card game) and we each had one card left. Hers was face down, had not been flipped yet. I had one last card in my hand, a 4, the second to lowest card in the game. I placed it on the table, knowing I was beat. She very slowly lifted her card from the table...singing her suspenseful music "da-da-dan-dan"...it was a THREE!
We laughed and laughed and laughed. And every time we played, we would bring it up. "Tita, remember when I had a four and you had a three?" Tita - the one and only, the best Tita ever! Can't wait to see her again, when we'll all be together forever!

With a personality that shines through and through...
Never a more gracious loving lady, a servant of the Lord... A mother, A grandmother, A great-grandmother ... A warrior.
May her memory brings smiles and laughter to all that had the pleasure of knowing her. She always made you feel welcome with her smile and quick wit ... and giggles
I will always remember her with Tony first. His best friend, Tita
We are ALL blessed for knowing her!

... and The BEST tamale maker in Texas! Judi

We were at Josie's one time and she had either some chili peppers or pickles (not sure which, but whatever it was, it was EXTREMELY HOT). Josie cut it up small and added it to the food on her plate. Nick took a tiny bite on his tongue and he reached for water! All the family around the table had a good chuckle at Nick's expense.

We remember Josie as a dear, lovely Christian lady who loved the Lord Jesus and looked forward to His coming.
