Joseph Carroll "Pete" Bartholow, born August 3, 1925 to Joseph and Margaret Bartholow in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away November 26, 2012 in Houston, Texas. Mr. Bartholow was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mary B.Wolf and Joan B. Dallas, and by his son-in-law, Edwin J. Young. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret E. Bartholow Young and her mother, Ilse M. Stern; nieces and nephews, Peggy Yuna, Katherine Costello, William Dallas, Jr., John M. Dallas, Patrick Dallas, Deborah Helgeson, Joan Rippel, and Christopher Wolf, as well as other extended family and friends.
Mr. Bartholow proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque. Pete was a man of many interests and talents. He worked in advertising, engineering, finance, and restaurant management. He was an actor and a lifetime member of the Screen Actors Guild, an active member of the Art League Houston's Healing Art Program, and a member of the Houston Silver Eagles, participating in the annual National Veterans Golden Age Games. He was also an avid golfer and photographer.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home.
