

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He was a native Houstonian born on August 14th, 1942.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Thomas Anthony Lamonte and Margaret Mandola Lamonte, and also his beloved brother, Anthony Lamonte.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Lamonte; daughter, Angela Lamonte-Madera (Sid Madera); sons, Paul Williams (Amanda Williams) and Dwayne Williams (Cindy Williams); twelve grandchildren, Morgan, Kristin, Ashley, Heath, Kinsey, Koby, Jack, Joe, Cole, Caitlyn, Dominic, and Julian, and by eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joe grew up in the north side of Houston, attended Holy Name primary school and St Thomas High School. He attended three years at Sam Houston State University, and one year at University of Houston.
Joe was a champion checker player as a child, and even won over many adults, he was passionate about poker, sports, animals, and his family.
Just recently, in his illness, his two grandsons, Dominic and Julian, took him to see another of his passions live in concert; Willie Nelson.
More than any accomplishment that can be listed here, Joe Lamonte lived his life loving hugely. He gave and received love to everyone he met.
The family will receive friends during a visitation, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday September 27th, 2013 at Heights Funeral Home where a rosary vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services are on Saturday, September the 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home.
Following the funeral service Saturday, there will be a celebration of Joe's life at the home of his niece, Renee Johnson (22923 River Birch Drive, Tomball TX 77375). All family and friends are welcome.
A private burial will be held on Monday, September 30th, 2013 at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Joe Lamonte was so incredibly loved.
