Joseph Clay Thompson was born on April 12, 1947 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas to Ellen and Lucky Thompson. He was a true native Houstonian who attended St. John's Private School, Austin High School, Houston Community College, University of Houston and the Texas Art Institute. He was an accomplished illustrator and photographer and devoted father and husband. He loved to fish and work on cars, especially Triumphs. He won numerous awards for his photographs and TR7 Show Car. He maintained a positive attitude, even through difficult circumstances. He went to be with the Lord at 8:40 am on April 2, 2018. Clay is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clay Thompson Sr. and Ellen Josephine Thompson; sister Carol Wyndham. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 49 years Edna Thompson; daughters June Ritchlin, Janet Pate, Jennifer Companik; sister Marilyn Berger; grandchildren Joshua Pate, Nathaniel Pate, Jonah Companik, Daniel Companik, Christina Companik and extended family and friends.
