Born on December 31, 1945, in Houston, Texas, Josie spent her childhood surrounded by family, faith, and community. One of her fondest childhood memories was of her father bringing home candy from Weingarten's, followed by evenings when the entire family gathered to play bingo. In her youth, she enjoyed playing softball and volleyball, running track, and participating in church activities.
Josie graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1965. Throughout her career, she served as a secretary and data entry clerk for TIRR, Houston ISD, and Lakewood Church. She took pride in her work and was known for her dedication and dependability.
Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She devoted countless hours to serving others through Missionettes and Teen Challenge Ministry, sharing God's love through her actions and unwavering encouragement. Josie found great joy in reading her Bible and living out the values it taught.
She also found happiness in life's simple blessings. She loved sewing, birdwatching, rescuing animals, and, above all, spending precious time with her family.
Josie was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Padron; her father and stepmother, Joe Angel Padron and Rosie Padron; her brothers, Benjamin Padron and Joe A. Padron Jr.; and her sisters, Gloria Gonzalez, Consuela Acevedo, and Andrea Flores.
She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her love and memory: her husband, Steven B. Ramos; her daughters, Stephanie Ann Martinez, Tabitha Suarez, and Andrea Pa; her son-in-law, Matthew Pa; her beloved grandchildren, Justice Amene Thompson, Evelyn Itiah Martinez, Stefen Ernesto Salazar, and Aaron Matthew Pa; and her siblings, Peter Padron, Esther Rodriguez, Abe Padron, Ramon Padron, Rebecca Ybarra, and Priscilla Padron.
Josie will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her generous heart, her gentle spirit, and the unconditional love she gave to her family and all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and devotion to God will continue to live on in the lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
