Joyce was born to father Peter Novosad and mother Elsie Cordes. She grew up with two big brothers, Gene and Jim, who she adored greatly. From an early age, Joyce attended parochial school which helped to seed her faith to become a lifelong Catholic.
After she graduated from Reagan High School, Joyce married John Wallace on April 23, 1957, and started her own family with her daughter Charlotte and sons, Johnny and Craig.
After raising her family and sending them out into the world, Joyce was blessed to find new love in her second husband, Henry Garcia. They married on June 6, 1990, and proudly watched on as her family continued to grow. From her children, she had four beautiful granddaughters, Cherish, Elisa and husband Jonathan, Sarah and husband Matthew, and Miranda and husband Paul. She also had six great grandchildren whom she adored, Andrew, Jordan, Emma, Charlee, Aiden, and Ruby.
When she wasn't with her family, Joyce spent much of her time in her later years serving in the food pantry at Assumption Catholic Church and became a member of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society. Joyce’s heart to serve God and his people showed through her efforts both in and outside of church. In the community, she would offer rides to neighbors and even deliver Thanksgiving dinner to families in need. She was a true blessing to her family, her friends, and her community.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents Peter and Elsie Novosad, brothers Gene and wife Gay, and Jim and Dolly Novosad, and husband, Henry Garcia. She is survived by her sons Johnny Wallace and wife Lisa, Craig Wallace and wife Tricia, her daughter, Charlotte and husband, David Miles. As well as her four granddaughters, and six great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent De Paul.
