Joyce Earlene Giddings

Joyce Earlene Giddings, born and raised in the Houston Heights passed away at the age of 84, Monday November 23rd, 2015 after a losing her battle with Alzheimer’s. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Jesse and Margaret Rose, son, Stephen Horton, and her husband Verbon Giddings. She leaves behind her son and daughter in law, Ron and Sheree Horton, Daughter, Lisa Driskel, Daughter and son in law Dona and Darby Freeman, grandchildren, Christy and husband Ignacio Lara, Ronnie Horton, Steven Horton, Robert Driskel, Ryan Driskel, Alexander Knoll and Claudia Knoll, great grandchildren Rebekah, Victoria, Alexandria, Robert Driskel III and Annalisa Driskel. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life and she always put them first no matter what.

Joyce enjoyed her profession as an Executive Secretary for the oil and gas industry and eventually became the secretary of Heights Christian Church the very church she grew up in. This job was really not a job at all in her eyes because it brought her great joy to serve the Lord. Her faith was always at the fore front of everything she did. She also loved traveling around the world, shopping and hosting parties.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
