Joyce Louise Padgett passed away on March 21, 2013. Joyce was born in Houston on July 9, 1932, to parents James and Hilda Pointer. Joyce met the love of her life, James Padgett while still attending high school, subsequently graduating from San Jacinto High School. Joyce and James married in 1953, and were happily married for sixty years.
Joyce is survived by her husband, James Padgett, her sister, Evelyn Kelly, her two children, Kathy Reeves, and former son-in-law Rodney Reeves, and Ken Padgett, and daughter-in-law Stacy Padgett. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Shannon Killian, Amanda McCoy, Paige Padgett, Kristen Reeves and Shannon Reeves, and her great-grandchildren Michael Killian, Callie McCoy, Brianna McCoy and Leah McCoy. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with funeral services immediately following at the Forest Park Lawndale family chapel, 6900 Lawndale Ave., Houston, TX 77023.
