Juan Jesus Cuevas (Johnny-boy by family, and Juan Diego when he was in trouble with his mother). He enjoyed creating art, baking, cooking, wine, adventures with friends, being with family and a good dirty joke.
Juan was born December 29, 1949 in Houston, Texas to Elvira Mendoza Cuevas and Jose Nieves Cuevas.
He graduated from Steven F. Austin HS, Houston, Texas in 1968. He served in the United States Marine Corp, during the Vietnam Era January 13, 1969-January 12, 1972.
He retired in 2001 from Southwestern Bell (AT&T) after 28 years of services.
He married Janette Velez on November 6, 1971. He is a father of five and grandfather of nine:
Daughter Andrea Bernadette Cuevas Pace and her husband Francesco and their children Celestino, Valentina, Isabella and twins Lorenzo and Rocco; Daughter Iris Yvonne Cuevas Skennion and her children Blade (Big Papi), Liam and twins Logan and Quinn.; daughter Lorie Kristina Cuevas McKinney and husband Leslie; son Michael A Cuevas and wife Ann; daughter Gabriela Velez Cuevas; brothers Jose Cuevas and wife Linda, Samuel Cuevas and wife Teresa. Eugene Cuevas and wife Janie, sister-in-law Louise Ramirez.
Juan was preceded in death by; mother Elvira Mendoza Cuevas and father Jose Nieves Cuevas and step-dad Manuel Ramirez Sr; brother Manuel Ramirez Jr. ; sisters Mary A Jasso, Rosie Vela, Josephine (Penny) Benavides and Consuela (Connie) Luna.
