Ms. Juanetta Denice (Taylor) Brown, age 71, of Houston, Texas passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 surrounded by love. Juanetta was born in Houston, Texas to Myrtle (Heard) Taylor and Ferndell Taylor. She grew up in the church and was baptized at Greater Ward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she learned about the goodness of God.
Juanetta graduated from M.C. Williams High School in 1970 and attended Texas Southern University.
In August 1973, she married Fredrick Johnson to which no children were born to this union.
In June of 1978, she married Ray Brown Sr., to which two children were born; Tionna and Ray Jr. (Tony).
She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until her retirement.
She later became a member of Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served until being called home to her Heavenly reward.
Juanetta was preceded in death by her parents Ferndell Taylor Myrtle (Heard) Taylor; her brothers Marvin Taylor and Herbert Taylor.
She leaves to mourn Ray Brown Sr., daughter Tionna Robinson, son Ray Brown Jr, sisters; Michelle Taylor, Sheila Taylor, brothers; Donnie Taylor, Tommy Taylor, granddaughter; Gevonna Robinson, grandson Tavion Robinson, great granddaughter; Kehlani Robinson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and church family, whom she loved dearly.
A visitation for Juanetta will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 8787 N Houston Rosslyn Rd, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral service celebrating her life will commence following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest immediately following her life celebration at Paradise Cemetery North, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, Texas 77088.
