Juanita Olivia Rogers Ransom

Juanita was born on November 16, 1919 in Iola, TX to Nealie Isbell Rogers and George W. Rogers. She was valedictorian of the 1937 Senior Class of Iola High School. Juanita retired from Spring Woods High School in 1990 after 23 years of service. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Spring Branch for 55 years.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 41 years, Thomas A. Ransom and her brother, G.W. Rogers, Jr. and his wife Betty.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Vinson and husband Richard; son, Barry Ransom; grandchildren, Shannon Davis and husband Rodney, Ginger Lindsey and husband Jeff, Richard Vinson, Jr. and wife Jennifer, Amanda Carsten and husband Randy, Clay Ransom; great grandchildren, Shelbi and Kasi Davis, Victoria and Cassidy Lindsey, Wyatt and Cole Vinson, Clayten Carsten; 4 nieces and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 8pm Monday, June 7th at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Graveside services will be held at 10am Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Concord Cemetery in Iola, TX.
