

Judith was born in Houston on Friday, the 31st of December 1937, the second of three children born to Pierce and Bea Miears. She graduated in 1956 from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, and from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Texas, with a degree in sacred music.
Judith's love of music led to a fulfilling career and many friendships. For more than 50 years she taught piano to hundreds of students, and she will be remembered as an accomplished organist at Second Presbyterian, Spring Branch Presbyterian, and Grace Presbyterian churches in Houston, and St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Katy, Texas.
Those thankful in sharing Judith's life include her daughter, Terice Allen, her son, Jonathan and his wife Stephanie, and grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Allen, Chase and Nathan Preto. Judith is also survived by her mother, Bea, brothers, Gilbert and Kenneth, sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Michelle, and nephews, Matthew and Daniel Miears. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norwood Raymond Preto, on the 13th of May, 2011.
Family and friends will gather at a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, the 8th of March, at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston.
A service celebrating this wonderful woman's life will be led by Reverend Kim Meyers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, the 9th of March, at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 20775 Kingsland Boulevard in Katy, Texas.
Graveside services and interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
