

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julian Onesimo Calles Jr., who died peacefully on June 30, 2026 at the young age of 55. He was born October 2, 1970, in Pasadena, Texas, graduated from Stratford High School and began a dedicated career with the City of Houston’s Fleet Management Department. Known for his quick wit, warm laughter, and deep devotion to family and sports such as The Houston Astros, Julian cherished his time with his daughters, grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
He is survived by his daughters Dominique Calles (husband Thomas Harthan and son Ayden Harthan) and daughter Jessica Taxiarchou (husband Tony Taxiarchou; children Anthony, Jax, and Lexi Taxiarchou); his mother, Maria Calles; and his brothers Christopher Calles (wife Laura Calles) and David Calles (wife Cassie Calles and children Lillian, Clarissa, Colt, and Cloe). He was preceded in death by his father, Julian Onesimo Calles Sr.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Juergen’s Hall Community Center, located at 26026 Hempstead Rd., Cypress, TX 77429. In keeping with Julian’s love of the Houston Astros, attendees are invited to wear Astros apparel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to GiGi’s Playhouse Sugar Land, 13003 Southwest Fwy #170, Stafford, TX 77447, in honor of Julian’s granddaughter with Down Syndrome, Lexi Taxiarchou.
