He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius H. Jalufka, Sr. and Angeline M. Jalufka; his brother, John P. Jalufka. He is survived by his sisters, Kathryn Jalufka and Judy Jalufka, both of Houston, TX; uncle, Erwin Jalufka of Engle, TX.
Julius graduated from the University of Houston in 1986 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he began his professional career with Court Record Research, Inc. He worked there for 37 years until he retired in 2023 but continued to work from home as a consultant as needed. Julius was a lifelong member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Starting at an early age, he developed an affinity for music and loved to listen to the Billboard top 40 every week and keep track of the charts. He could tell you the year any song was released, and especially loved the 70’s. 1972 being his all-time favorite year. Julius was also an avid sports fan. He loved the Houston Cougars, Texans, and especially the Astros. You could ask him anything about a particular football or baseball player, and he could tell you where they went to school, when they were drafted, and what teams they had played with. He loved nature and watching things grow. A cat person from childhood, he recently developed a great fondness for the two newest members of the family, our pups Angus and Lucky, AKA “the boys”, and even tolerated big sis, Lola. Julius was a great person of few words with a quiet nature, but when you friended him, you had a friend for life.
He will be truly missed by all, but especially by his sisters, who he has lived with for the past 5 years. May his soul rest in peace.
Thank you to pallbearers Chris Wathen, Leo Villegas, Gordon Hanna, Alex Carmelo, Frankie Dial, Julien Owen, and Ross Gauld; honorary pallbearers, RB McEntire, Milton Marek, Edward Marek, and Paul Marek.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 4, 2024, from 5-8 PM at Heights Funeral Home, with the Rosary being recited at 7 PM. The funeral service will be held the following morning at 11 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
