June Hyde Hunt

Born and raised in Rome, Georgia, June was a true Southern lady whose impeccable manners, gentle spirit, and gracious nature touched everyone fortunate to know her. She was a graduate of Shorter College and began her career as a beloved teacher before devoting herself wholeheartedly to her family. She later worked as a dental office manager before retiring.

In 1965, June married Ed Hunt, beginning a loving partnership that continued for 61 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with family, friendships, and countless cherished memories. June was a devoted mother to Mark Hunt and a loving and adoring grandmother to Elizabeth, Alexander, and Matthew, who brought her great joy and pride.

June had a delightful spirit and a genuine appreciation for life. She enjoyed being active and, in her younger years, played the piano at church and enjoyed recreational tennis. She was deeply involved in her community and generously gave her time through the Junior Woman's Guild. In 1976, she moved to Carrollton, TX, where she continued to build a life surrounded by family, dear friends, and a loving community.

Those who knew June will remember her beautiful smile, which could light up a room, and the warmth she carried with her wherever she went. She had a lovely way of making people feel comfortable, valued, and genuinely welcome. Whether greeting a lifelong friend or meeting someone for the first time, June offered the same gracious smile, thoughtful attention, and sincere kindness. She was generous with her time and her heart, and her gentle Southern charm was evident in all she did.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ed Hunt; son, Mark Hunt of Houston, TX; daughter-in-law, Ann; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexander, and Matthew; sister, Linda Pinson of Cedar Bluff, Alabama; brother-in-law, Bill; nephews, Daniel and John; and many other loving family members and dear friends.

June will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the beautiful life she lived, the gracious example she set, and the love she gave so freely. Her presence brought warmth and light to the lives of so many, and her memory will remain a cherished blessing to all who knew and loved her.

May she rest peacefully, surrounded forever by the love she so generously gave to others.

A gathering will be held at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, US, on September 30, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the funeral at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A committal will take place at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, US, on September 30, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 12:50 pm.
