Karen Annette Richards

Karen Annette Richards, 1964-2010, (aka Sims and Malchar) Born in Houston, Tx on May 5, 1964. She was raised in Pasadena, Tx. Graduate of Sam Rayburn HS in 1982. Served in the U.S. Army from 1982 - 1992. She received a medal for saving two lives at Ft. Ord, CA. She was a devoted mother to her three children.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Belle Fisher, of Pasadena, TX.; grandparents, Joseph and Mary Elizabeth of Hampton, VA; uncle, Mr. Joseph Shell Jr. of Hampton,Va; aunt, Rethea Scaggs.

She is survived by her son; William Harvel Sims III and his two children Erika Nicole and Ryleigh Rain; son, Nolan Brian Malchar; daughter, Katelyn Rethea Malchar; sister, Jacqueline Elizabeth Kyle of Houston, Texas and her two sons Jason and Brian Richards; sister, Jill Temiquel and husband Tony and their daughter Maddison Karentina Elizabeth Temiquel who always put a smile on her aunt KK's face; sister, Kimberly Rethea Patterson; brother, Gregory Lincoln Woodward; and a very special family she knew and loved dearly the Barrera's of Pasadena, Tx. Mr. and Mrs. Juan ("Mr. B" and Amadina Barrera, her best friend John Barrera, Dina Barrera, Jeffery Barrera and Debra Barrera). She loved them and always felt this was her 2nd family. She has uncles and aunts, and various cousins. Mr. Robert Scagg of Dallas, Tx and cousin Edwin (Ed) Selby of Marshall, Tx. Uncle and aunt Mr. Joseph Shell and Mrs. Donna Shell along with their two sons Joey and Jonathan of Marshall, Tx.

Karen passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at Forest Park Lawndale Chapel of Angels at 2:30 PM. She wishes in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Texas Children's Hospital.
