Kathryn E. Glass Bigley passed away February 24, 2011. She was born in Yoakum, Texas on August 12, 1914 to Marie and Sherman J. Glass. She moved to Houston in 1932, attended and graduated from the Lilly Jolly School of Nursing at Memorial Hospital in 1935. She retired from the Memorial Hospital System in 1977. She married Clarence T. Bigley March 17, 1939. She was an active member of West University Baptist Church and was a member of the Prime Time Singers. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of sixty-one and a half years. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Bigley Czencz and Joyce E. Bigley, grandchildren Karen Bigley and Jeff Montgomery, her brother and sister-in-law Sherman and Vicki Glass, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale, 3900 Lawndale Street, Houston. Graveside services will be at Forest Park Lawndale on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Senior Minister Ronnie Barner. A memorial service will be held at West University Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, and will be officiated by Pastor Roger Patterson. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to West University Baptist Church, 6218 Auden, Houston, Texas 77005.
