Kathryn Tanner, age 88, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 18, at Houston Hospice after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Hazel Shields. She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, R. E. "Pete" Tanner; her son, Charles Tanner; a niece and numerous cousins. Visitation will be Sunday, September 21, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, September 22, in the Chapel of the Angels at Forest Park Lawndale. Rev. Lisa Hunt will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Houston Hospice or to the charity of one's choice.
