Kenneth Jay Cutting passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022, at the age of 90 in Houston, Texas. He was surrounded by family and friends that loved him dearly. He was born on February 4, 1932, in Jackson, Michigan to Kenneth James Cutting and Helen Freck.
Ken was a United State Sailor who loved his country,family and friends above all else. He worked for the City of New York as a Stationary Engineer before relocating to Houston, TX. He moved his family for the medical facility that could best take care of his wife’s heart condition. He worked and retired from Har-Con Mechanical. To no one’s surprise he became bored and decided to go back to work and joined the team at Home Depot. This was the perfect job for him as he never met a stranger and was always the first person to lend someone in need a helping hand. In his early years he found joy breading and showing German Shepherds. Woodworking was a hobby of his later in life and at one time he had a small shop set up in his garage. He also loved watching any kind car racing.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ann, his daughter Celine Johnson, his brothers, Donald F. Cutting, Harry Cutting, and Jerry Culhane. He is survived by his son Kenneth Joseph Cutting, granddaughter Lauren Harris, grandson Kenneth Wayne Cutting, brother Harold Culhane and sister Francis Woodring.
A visitation for Ken will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77055. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 9, 2022 at 12:30 PM, in the RL Waltrip Venue at Waltrip Funeral Directors. A burial will occur Friday, December 9, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079, with Navy MIlitary Honors.
