He was in the first Class to Graduate from the second location of Booker T. Washington High School, the Class of 1960, while there he was active in the Band, GENTS and was voted as Best Dressed, something that would stay with him forever.
A Proud Texas Southern University Alumni twice over, B.A 1965. in History and a Juris Doctorate 1972 from the Thurgood Marshall Law School. He loved his TSU Tigers with his favorite game battles with SWAC Rivals, Grambling, Prairie View and Southern. We were always there! His assignment was in the Military Post Exchange were his duty was a Radio Relay and Carrier Operator in the Republic of South Viet Nam. It was during this time, during his stateside location in Fort Hood, Texas, he met his wife Lenora Ann Taylor, of Georgetown, Texas. After a short courtship, they married April 15, 1967, and were together for a wonderfully blessed 52 and a half years. This union birthed two children, Krista Ann and Kenneth Ethan.
Upon being licensed as an Attorney in 1972, he was employed as an Assistant District Attorney, assigned to County Criminal Court at Law No. 2. His final assignment at the D.A. was No. 2 Prosecutor for the 182 District Court. During his time at the D.A. office, Kenneth was assigned part of the Hiring Committee to bring more African American Lawyers into the D.A. office. After seeing the downtrodden beat in the system, Kenneth, left the D.A. office in 1980 and joined the firm of Ducoff & Channon, he was now a certified Criminal Defense attorney and wanted to help his fellow man. He retired from Ducoff & Channon in 2008.
His greatest concern when reflecting back on his law career, “that he hoped he served all his clients fairly and to the best of his ability!”
He was involved in many organizations during his lifetime, Texas Bar Association, American Bar Association, Houston Bar Association, Houston Lawyers Association, National District Attorney Association, Texas District and County Attorneys Association , Big Brothers, Inc., Texas Southern University Ex-Student Association, Shepherd Park Terrace Civic Club, U.
