He graduated from Milby High School in 1948. On July 30, 1948, at age 18, Kenneth went to work for Southwestern Bell in Houston, TX as a telephone installer. In 1950 he met and married the love of his life,
Thelma Lee Morrison. The couple settled in the Nothshore area of Houston and raised four children: Charlie, Robert, Diana, and Billy. They have since added 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren to their family.
In the 1990’s, Kenneth retired from AT&T and relocated in Livingston, TX. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Livingston. Kenneth was a Godly man who loved to serve the Lord and work in the church. He was a loving husband and father. You could call him “Mr. Fix It” because he could fix most anything you took him that was broken. Rebuilding cars, building furniture, doing lawn work, cooking great barbecue, and spending time with friends and family filled his life. But, his greatest passion was watching, reading, and talking about NASCAR racing. Kenneth lived by the motto, “If you don’t have a purpose everyday, what is the use in waking up.” No matter how bad he felt, when you asked how he was, he always replied, “Pretty Good, Pretty Good!”
