Kirby Edmond Smith

He was born at Dewitt Army Hospital January 7, 1948 to parents Warren H. Smith, Sr. & Ella Florence Emory. Baptized in the Roman Catholic church.

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Michael John Smith; Warren Harding Smith Jr. and James Edward Smith.

Mr. Smith served in the United States Navy and received his basic training at Great Lakes, Michigan. Served at Ceremonial Guard Anacostia and on the USS MISSISSINEWA in 1966. Had a prosperous paint contracting business in Virginia for many years. He was a patriot and a Republican.

Survivors include sisters Carol Ann Smith King of Houston; Ruth Smith of Nehalem, Oregon ; brother Louis Blank III of Matoaca Virginia; aunt and uncle Lydia and Wayne van Fossen of Petersburg, Virginia; Barbara Emory of Colonial Heights, Virginia; numerous cousins; nieces & nephews . Raised one niece from birth due to the death of his brother Mike in 1974.

In remembrance of Mr. Smith donations be made to any animal shelter or Shriners

Hospital. .His remains will be spread in the Atlantic; Pacific & Gulf waters.

The family thanks doctors & nursing staff at DeBakey VA Hospital for their great care given to Mr. Smith.
