Laura is a loud and proud graduate of Milby High School in Houston Texas. She is survived by the love of her life of 54 years, Tony Garcia, her three beautiful children Joanna Burgess, Gina Roliard and Sonny Garcia and her 5 siblings, Margaret, Marylou, Robert, Josie and Pat. Laura also has 9 grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart and soul, Patrick, Hailey, Nicholas, Madison, Joel Jr, Natalie, Chase, Maxx and Abigail.
Laura's fondest memories are of being a teenager walking down Main Street with her friends and cousins. She enjoyed going to Grants Store to buy records and she even saved money to buy her first record player as a teen. Laura had the most fun listening to her records and hanging out with her family and friends. Laura made many great friends in her life journey, met her future husband on a blind date and worked at some interesting places. She spoke about working for Western Union and even at Nasa transmitting the news on a telex machine!
Laura was a devoted wife and mother. She and Tony would volunteer at their church cooking breakfast to serve after the Sunday masses and worked the booths at the jamaica. Laura also enjoyed her years volunteering with Dixie Little League as her son went through the baseball and football programs there. Lets not forget the many hours Laura put in at the schools through PTA. She was proud of all her children's accomplishments. She was their biggest cheerleader and voice of reason. She never missed an event and was there snapping pictures along the way. Laura was a good and faithful servant in all areas of her life and she was definitely the life of the party. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Laura's commitment to marriage, family, faith and unconditional love were all the gifts she gave to her family. Laura will be remembered for her strength and courage as she fought the long term effects of diabetes and stroke. At the end of her life, her body was broken but her love and peace were strong. We rest in the comfort that mom is joyfully reunited with her parents, family and her friends that went before her.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" II Timothy 4:7
