To the prettiest mama in the world… I love and miss you so much mama. Just when you think you’re prepared for what life has lined up, if fools you, and you wasn’t as ready as you thought you were. I wish we could have enjoyed you a little longer, but we know God has all the say so. Plus I knew Donny was gonna need you up there with him. You always said if God ever called one of your children home, he might as well take you too, because you didn’t think your broken heart could take it. Until we meet again, save us a seat mama. I love you so much ❤️

My Grandmother was a force to behold. Never once did I hear a complaint or self-pity come from her even though life wasn't too kind sometimes.  She educated me on our family history and genealogy... made me a lover of all things Elvis and reminded me that even though she was a grandma, she was still cool and listened to things like Aerosmith and AC/DC.  She adapted the best she could with these changing times, and even texted better than some of her children did.  She was always at the kitchen table reading a good book and ready to tell a story. The last time we sat together at that kitchen table we looked through her Graceland book for the 97th time, which was alright by me.  In the end, I will cherish the last few days I had with her and the words I was able to share from my heart to hers.  

 A funny side note:  She was hard of hearing and my father would always write silly things down when she couldn't hear him, and he would point to the paper and say, "Mother, read the note".  She would get on to him until the words finally read " I love you". So, from there, when we would sit together and she would say "huh?" we'd point to any paper and say, " read the note" and she would laugh and say "yeah... I read the note, love you too." I'm glad you read the last note Grandma, I love you and thank you for my life.
