Eddie served in the U S Marine Corps. He worked as a machinist for about five years and worked as a mechanic until he retired. Eddie was a devoted father to his children and loved his dogs.
Eddie was married to Stephanie and they had four children, he had three grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Wampler; daughter, Rachael Kay Wampler; his father, Lawrence Franklin Wampler and his brother Mark Franklin Wampler. Survived by his mother, Alice Ernestine Wampler; his three children, Sarah Long and husband, Tyler, of Houston, Eddie Wampler, of Virginia, Charles Wampler and wife, Alexia of Houston. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Amelia and Keaton Wampler, of South Carolina and Tyler Jesse Long, II, of Houston, Texas.
Visitation with the family was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the R.L. Waltrip Venue. Interment with Military Honors followed at Houston National Cemetery.
