Lawrence A. Lehnert Jr.
May 3, 1957 – July 1, 2018

Lawrence attended three years at Spring Branch High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Sally. Due to a family move he ultimately graduated from Spring Woods H.S. in 1975. Lawrence and Sally both attended Southwest Texas State University. They married August 14, 1976 and spent 41 years building a family and wonderful life together. He especially enjoyed hunting/fishing with his father, brothers, son /son In law and countless friends.Sally and Lawrence loved to travel but nothing was as precious as spending time with family. Although his family and friends were always his top priority he managed a long and rewarding career. Lawrence played an integral part in the success of Trac-Work Inc. where he worked for 39 years. Of course many of his co-workers also turned into close friends.
Lawrence was a man with a big heart. As a member of Bear Creek United Methodist Church for 28 years he worked tirelessly to serve his church and community with his gifts, talents, and time. He was president of the United Methodist Men's group, Chairman of the Trustees and a long time member of the United Disciples Sunday School class. Lawrence always said he was blessed to have so many friends and family to love him. Lawrence was smart and resourceful. To Sally and family,
Our hearts go out to you all for your great loss. Lawrence and I worked on a few projects together over the past 23 years or so. He was always kind, upbeat, and more than willing to help. I will always appreciate his generosity as he more than once gave us an open invitation to visit. He often mentioned how "awesome" of a time he had with you guys and always wanted us to join him. To lose someone in death is not natural, and was never meant to be. That is why we can be hopeful of the bright future that God has promised in his word the Bible concerning those we lose in death. Our prayers and hugs are with you and your family. May you find comfort and peace. Isaiah 25:8; Isaiah 26:19; Job 14: 5-15; John 5:28,29; Revelation 21:3,4

Sally and family,
George and I are praying that the God of all comfort will wrap His loving arms around all of you during this time. We pray that you will experience His peace that passes understanding and that it will carry you through the valley where you are walking. I will always remember Lawrence as a very giving man and I can truly say he was my friend. He will be greatly missed until we see each other on the other side! It’s not goodbye, it’s so long for now!

Kevin and I and Justin and Josh were so saddened to hear the news. We have such fond memories of Lawrence and the whole Lehnert family during our years with Cub Scouts. It was such a pleasure to look at all the happy photos of this devoted husband, father, and grandfather. I hope these memories sustain your family during the days ahead. I only wish he could have had more years on the planet to enjoy his family and contribute to his church.

Last September when I left Bear Creek UMC to start a cooking ministry at Cornerstone Methodist Lawrence said he was sad to see me go, but understood that I was answering a calling. He thanked me for my service at Bear Creek, wished me well and hugged me. That’s the last time i saw him in person. I am so grateful he left me with a great memory that will endure. RIP Buddy.

Lawrence will be sorely missed by all who knew him. My fondest memory of him is the way he played with Liam and his grandkids, Caden and Kyle, down on the floor, fully ingrossed in them, loving them, and making them feel special.
Lawrence truly was the World's BEST Uncle and Liam's world will definitely be much smaller without him.
I am so grateful for the time we had with Lawrence and will cherish the memories always.

I was "on the scene," when Lawrence and Sally met , thought huh? God and time proved us all wrong! God created us in His image and that image is "love!". We have God's mind and heart, and yes His love. One of the greatest things in this creation is,"no one can steal the memories are love we have.". Knowing that makes our separation until we are together again, easier.
God bless you Sally , for being my friend during my times of need. We are all here for you and your family during yours.

With heavy hearts we pay tribute to you, Lawrence, who has gone before us. We are blessed to know we will see your face again when we join you in heaven. Father God, we praise You for our friendship with Lawrence. The years were too few and passed too quickly. Send an angel, Lord to comfort Sally, Amy and Chris during this time of loss. Watch over these beautiful grandchildren of Lawrence’s; they were his world and he will be greatly missed in their’s. Amen

Sally,
My deepest condolences. Lawrence was not only a co-worker, but a true friend. He always had a smile on him; loved life, god, and his family. A day never went by that he would always share pictures of his family and vacations. He was always there for me as a friend, co-worker and instilled in me to enjoy life to it's fullest. I will miss all the laughs we had whether on Skype calls, in the office and on job site's. He will be missed. RIP my friend.

I have worked with Lawrence for 13 years. He was more than my boss, he was family and I loved him dearly. To all of you my deepest sympathies. Lawrence is the most generous, humble man I've ever known. He taught me so much! About railroads yes, but he taught me so much about life over the years. And he taught me that no matter what life throws at you, you keep your head up, keep your eyes focused on God and move forward. He recently told me that none of us are promised a tomorrow so live each day and let the people you love know it. So from my heart to each of yours, much love! You are all family and if there is anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask.
