Lee Colura, 94, passed away in Angleton, TX on Dec. 28, 2013. Lee was born to Charlie and Anna Colura on Dec. 4, 1919 in Bryan, Texas. At the age of 10 his family moved to Houston where he grew up in the Heights. There he met Vera Cordell and they were married in 1941. They remained together until Vera’s death in 2009. At the outbreak of World War II, Lee joined the Navy and served as a trainer in San Diego, CA, and later on the USS Phoenix in the Pacific. At the end of the war, Lee returned home to Houston where he worked at the General Electric service shop, retiring in 1982. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vera and his sister Josie Bridges. He is survived by his sons Robert Colura (wife Michele) of Palacios and Kenneth Colura (wife Marian) of Lake Jackson. Granchildren: Meredith Cary; Kenneth B. Colura, and Kyndell Tucker (husband Jason). Greatgrandchildren: Brendan Morales, John Cary III, Rebekah Cary, Aidan Tucker, Balise Tucker, and Jace Tucker. A graveside service will be held on Jan. 3, 2014 at 10:30 o’clock at Forest Park Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX.
