LEE SAGE FALCO was born on August 27, 1927 in Navasota, Texas. He was the 6th of 8 children born to Charles and Ella Sage Falco. Lee worked on the family farm with his brothers and sisters until they moved to Houston, where he joined the United States Marine Corp. in August 1945. He later met and married Joan Dale Smith at Assumption Catholic Church in September 1950. They were married for 55 years at the time of her death in 2006. Together they raised two sons and a daughter, residing in Houston and Spring Texas. Throughout his life Lee worked as a butcher, television repairman, maintenance worker and electrician. Though he had no formal education past grade school, he received his GED later in life and further studied to become a licensed electrician. He was very “handy” and could fix anything. From toys to electrical appliances, if something was broken all of his family knew that you could take it to Dad and he could usually fix it. Lee enjoyed gardening and always had a yard full of beautiful roses. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball and football on television any chance that he had. He spent a lot of his time in his workshop making wooden cars that he gave away to anyone who wanted one, often donating boxes full of the toys to his church. From his teen years into young adulthood he played the guitar and sang in a Country Western band with his brother Johnny and several friends. He loved to play and sing for anyone who wanted to listen, but most enjoyed the time that he spent singing for his grandchildren when they were small. A quiet but devout Christian man, Lee was a member of St. Edward Catholic church and attended Mass weekly for as long as he was able to drive himself there.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ella Falco, his wife Joan Smith Falco, brothers Carlo, Nick, Joe and Johnny Falco, and his two sisters Rosalee Benardino and Katherine Dragna.
He is survived by his baby sister Pauline Falco, sons Lee Falco Jr. and wife Carla, James Michael Falco and wife Melanie, and daughter Jan Falco Hansard. He was the very proud and very loved grandfather of one grandson, six granddaughters and 15 great grandchildren.
