Beth was a sweet, gentle, compassionate, and caring Christian woman. She enjoyed music, a good book, cooking and sampling cuisine from various cultures. She always had a nurturing and kind spirit which inspired those who loved and cherished her.
Beth worked in the communications industry as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. She later became a telecommunications operator for United Gas Pipeline, and in 1975, was transferred to Houston, Texas where she made a wonderful life with her three children. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Beth was preceded in death by husband Cpt. Dan Rutherford, son Richard Nettles, parents Carey and Evelyn Wilson, and a brother Robert Wilson. She is survived by daughters Charlotte Tubb and Jackie McCormick, grandchildren Jason Tubb (Brandi), Brandi Campbell (Travis), Carrie Thornton, Josh McCormick, and Michelle McCormick, great grandchildren Michael Thornton, Grant Thornton, Cayden Tubb, Kennedi Tubb and Adam Zayala, sister Nell Robinett (Leonard), sister Winnie Patten, sister Martha Warren, brother William Wilson (Donna), and sister Judy Hill.
Family and friends gathered and shared memories of this wonderful woman during a visitation on Monday, October 14th at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where funeral services were held in the chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15th. In keeping with Beth’s wishes, arrangements with Resthaven Cemetery were private.
