Lenore's great loves were family, music, nature and the Lord. She enjoyed a career as a second grade teacher until her retirement. She attended services at First Baptist Church of Manvel and played the piano there for many years. She also joined The Happytime Strummers as their accordionist. She had a green thumb and kept plants all over her home which she loving cared for.
Lenore departed this life on Friday, May 31, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ewing and Lillian Newton, her husband Jack King, Lenard Brown and Bill Kennedy and her son Tommy Carruth.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her brother Jimmy Newton and his wife Sharon, her daughter Laurel Franklin, her granddaughters Kathy Owen and Becky Scarborough and great grandchildren Jassney, Noelia and Kastin. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 5-8 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
