Lenoria Marie Nickerson was born January 23, 1965 in Houston, Texas to the late Marvin and Dorothy Foster. Affectionately known as "Nora" or "Ms. Nora," she attended Houston Public Schools and graduated from Forest Brook High School. Shortly afterwards she married Kevin Nickerson and to this union three children were born - Sheronda, Kevin, and Korey. She accepted Christ at an early age and worked faithfully in the church. She was always on her post and always ready and willing to do what she could to support the church. She faithfully supported her leaders and was often found working with them in the area of outreach while attending City of Refuge Church. Recently, she was a member of Grace Community Church and served as an intercessor in the "Women With Purpose" bible study group. Lenoria loved to laugh, dance, spend time with her family, and write poetry, but her greatest passions were pointing people to God and helping those in need. She spent ten years working in social services at Neighborhood Centers and owned an inhome daycare for twelve years. Many people who came to her home for childcare became part of her extended family. Lenoria was a dear friend and mother figure to many people. She had a gift for making those around her feel special. She was always ready to give a listening ear and advise when it was needed. You always knew that she genuinely cared about you. Lenoria is preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Nickerson, her parents, Marvin and Dorothy Foster and her brother, Gregory Foster. She is survived by her daughter, Sheronda Nickerson; two sons, Kevin (Lindsey) Nickerson Jr.,and Korey (Calysta) Nickerson; two grandchildren, Jakobe and Leilani Meza; and five siblings, Angela Williams, Sandra Smith, Marva Foster, Cynthia Foster, and Byron Foster.
