Leon Bozeman Sr. (Paw Paw) was born on August 28, 1927 in Pattison, Texas to Isaac Leon and Blandeen Bozeman. He attended public school in Waller County. He later enlisted in the United States Army and served a tour of duty in Korea before receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. After returning home from active duty he reunited with his sweetheart; Erma Jean Barley, from San Felipe, Texas, and the two were married on July 27, 1947. This bond of marriage lasted until her death on January 16, 2017. This union produced seven (7) children; Catherine, Gloria, Leon Jr., Marilyn, Isaac, Reginald and Max. Foreseeing the need to provide more for his growing family, Leon enrolled in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration School and became a certified repair technician. After working for others and perfecting his skill, he became an entrepreneur and ran a successful A/C and Heating Repair Business for over forty (40) years. He often brought his sons to work with him to teach them the craft. In 1954, brother and sister Bozeman joined the True Light Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. William Bowie Jr. Brother Leon was a faithful ordained member of the Deacon Board and loyal Trustee member of the financial team. Leon never strayed far from his country roots and raised livestock, in his spare time on his family’s farm prior to retiring and handing the reins over to his sons. Leon is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 ½ years; Erma Jean, his son; Leon Jr., his sister; Marvel and three (3) grandchildren; Whitney, Porsha and Christon. He leaves to cherish memories of him; his loving children; Catherine, Gloria, Marilyn, Isaac (Cynthia), Reginald, Max (Barbara) and daughter-in-law; Linda (Leon Jr.), eighteen (18) grandchildren, nineteen (19) great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and the True Light Missionary Baptist Church Family of Light.
