

Lillian (Pawlik) "Teddy Bear" Mayer, was born in DeWitt County, Texas on Thursday, January 3, 1918, one of 13 children, to parents, Frank and Victoria (Maron) Pawlik. She passed away at her home in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the age of 96 years, 7 months and 29 days.
Lillian worked as a machinist and was a devoted homemaker. She was known to most as 'Teddy Bear' and will be remembered as a very kind and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt & Friend !
Lillian is survived by her granddaughter, Toni Wilson; brothers, Raymond and Victor Pawlik; brother-in-law, Wayne Conley; sisters-in-law, Georgie Pawlik and Joan Pawlik; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Victoria Pawlik; husband, Louis Mayer; daughter, Barbara Ann Millsap; brothers, Joe, Frank, Jerry and his wife Pat, Edmund and his wife Terri, and Richard Pawlik; sisters, Frances Ckodre and her husband Ed, Sally Hurst and her husband Jim, Annie Hartman and her husband 'Shorty,' Florence Smothers and her husband Vernon, Theresa Conley, and a sister-in-law, Emily 'Lilly' Pawlik.
Family and friends gathered at a visitation and shared memories in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, on Monday, September 15th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., where the Rosary was recited by Deacon Dan O'Dowd at 6:30 p.m.
At 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16th, Deacon Dan led a celebration of Teddy Bear's life in the funeral home chapel, with a committal service following at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway also in Houston, where she was laid to rest with her beloved daughter, Barbara.
In lieu of flowers and to help defray expenses, the family would be grateful for memorial donations. A Memorial account has been set up for Lillian Mayer at Wells Fargo Bank, Account # 1833320987. Donations can be made at any Wells Fargo Branch.
