Linda Ann Davis Howell, born on August 3, 1943, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 82. A long-time resident in the Houston area, Linda was beloved by her family and was known for being compassionate, devoted, hard-working, and selfless.
Linda grew up as an only child on a farm in Mount Vernon, Texas, where she developed a love for all animals while tending to livestock. She graduated from Pasadena High School and pursued nursing at Texas Women's University in Dallas.
In her personal life, Linda adopted Brian Credeur with her first husband, Allen Credeur, and was a devoted stay-at-home mom. She married Bobby Howell in 1981, and together with Brian, they lived happily with their dogs, a blue and gold macaw, and various other pets until Bobby's passing in 2016. Linda then moved in with Brian and his family in Cypress.
Linda had a strong sense of family and a willpower that was admired by many. She was a proper and sweet sophisticate who, in her later years, found joy in gardening and caring for pets, especially dogs. She also enjoyed playing tennis in a league and with friends, as well as fishing and skiing.
Linda's legacy is one of compassion and kindness. She had a deep love for animals and recently said, "If you are thinking of adopting a pet, please consider a senior shelter animal. Senior animals are great and deserve love too."
Linda is survived by her son, Brian Credeur (Corey Credeur), her granddaughter, Maya Credeur, her grandson, Alexander Credeur, her step-son, William Clayton Howell (Kendell Howell), and her granddaughter, Hayden Howell. Along with her Yorkie, Bentley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Otho Howell, her father, Sam Davis, and her mother, Mildred K. Davis.
Pallbearers will include Brian Credeur, William Clayton Howell, Rocket Williams, Steve Dutcher, Eric McCord, and Kieran Howlett.
In lieu of flowers, Linda’s request is to make a donation to an animal shelter or plant a tree.
