Lois Martha Wall

Mother breathed her last breath on Thursday, April 28th at 9:03 in the morning at Houston NW Hospital. Her final enemy was congestive heart failure and kidney failure. She was the daughter of Floyd W. Lynch and Pauline (Pasche) Lynch being born on July 5th, 1922. She attended and graduated from Reagan High School in 1940. While in high-school she worked part-time as a dental assistant for Dr. Mack Daughtery. She was also a member of the Reagan Red-Coats Drill Team where she played the trumpet. After high-school she worked for Citizens Bank & Trust where she rose to the position of head teller, reporting to Olan Horn, who became a life long friend.

In 1942 she met Herman C. Wall from Hillsboro, Kansas and married in 1943. She is survived by a son, H. Clifford Wall Jr., a daughter, Mrs. Gwendolyn Lois (Wall) Dawson-Hitt and son-in-law Robert L. Hitt both of Mt. Vernon, Texas, a grandson, Bryan Dawson Jr. of Houston, a step daughter, Tammy Dawson of Kansas, a second grandson Kemp Ramsey Wall of Lincolnton, NC., a grand-daughter, Specialist Megan Shelby Lofton of Fort Hood, Texas, a great-granddaughter, Destiny Ann Lofton, a grand son-in-law, Specialist Greg Lofton of Ft. Hood, Texas, a cousin, Nellie Moffett of New Hampshire, nephew, Donald C. Alexander of Tomball, and Numerous Mennonite nieces and nephews scattered throughout Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma, and ex son-in-law Perry Dawson, of Houston, Texas who she insisted remain a close family friend; there are also numerous friends and neighbors developed throughout her lifetime. Mother’s personality was charismatic and infectious and even in her last months and days brought joy to everyone she met.

The son and daughter would like to give a special word of thanks to Doctors Awad, Cherem, Rubin, and Bassler who took care of her at St Luke’s Medical Center. Upon transferring to Houston NW Medical Center in 2008 Doctors Chacko, El-Walli, Sokhon, Armstrong, Behara, Rhoton, Kodali, and Kurupath took over her care. She also spent some rehabilitation time at Reliant Rehab Center (the Woodlands) and Villa Toscana; the family would like to sincerely thank all that were involved in mother’s care during her walk through the valley of the shadow of death, especially the Care Team and medical Intensive Care Unit at Houston Northwest Medical Center; which provided her with excellent care and a fighting chance for survival.

Mother was a Christian her entire life and she had accepted her Savior, Jesus Christ, as a young girl, she then passed on her faith to all she came in contact by both words and deeds. She actively sang in multiple Houston church choirs, had an infectious Soprano Voice, was active in Parent-Teacher Associations and was an involved parent her entire life. She and Dad were members of Dixie Road Methodist Church and she was still a member of Park Place Methodist at the moment of her death.

As all believers know, she is now face –to-face with the Lord, the old things having passed away, no more death, no more sickness, suffering, tears, or sorrow. We shall miss her dearly, but as Grandmother Wall wrote when Grandfather Wall died in 1932: “We mourn for our loved one, but not as those who mourn without faith, hope and Christ.”

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made [in Mother’s name] to the American Heart Association, the kidney Foundation, or the Dementia/Alzheimer’s Foundation.
