

Longino H. Banos passed away June 22, 2015 in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Francisca Banos, his children; Tomas Banos, Maria Banos Jordan, and Edward Banos, son in law Steven Jordan, and daughter in law Corina Banos, Grandchildren; Alec and Juliana Banos Jordan, and Nicolas, Benjamin, and Kristiana Banos, siblings, nieces and nephews, and treasured family friends. He joins his parents Pedro and Maria in heaven with our Lord.
Longino was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba on March 7, 1936, and became a proud U.S. citizen. He worked as a pressman at the Houston Chronicle for many years, and operated a small catering business for a time in Houston. Longino loved cooking Cuban cuisine, dancing salsa music, visiting Houston's Cuban cafes for Cuban coffee and political chat, and spending time with his family and friends. He lived a life of service to his church community, and his Houston community. His legacy was love of family, love of country, and love of living with God's grace in his achievements and in times of need.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, June 26, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran, Houston, TX 77009. Interment will be at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, Houston, TX
