He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Cortez and daughter, Velma Castillo. Lonnie is survived by his present wife, Ruth Cortez, three daughters, Alda C. Flores, Janet Flores, and husband Jorge and Deborah Hogue and husband Michael. Lonnie's Grandchildren, Lisa Chapa and husband Romeo, Christopher Cisneros and wife Faith, Denise Flores, Kenneth Smith and wife Chantel, Rita Ramirez and her husband Gary, Leslie Cortez and husband Steven, Twelve Great-Grandchildren and five Great-Great Grandchildren.
Lonnie E. Cortez served in the US Army as a PFC for three years and went on to serve for 42 dedicated years within the Houston Fire Department as a Firefighter.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 5-9pm. Funeral Services will be on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11am at Forest Park Lawndale with the interment to follow.
