Lorenzo Morales, Jr., beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on May 17, 2025, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 46. A lifelong Houstonian, Lorenzo was a man of deep passion and boundless talent.
Born on January 9, 1979, Lorenzo spent his entire life in the city he loved. He earned his Associate’s Degree from the Art Institute of Houston and devoted 24 years of service to the University of Houston-Downtown, where he was admired for his dedication and warm spirit.
Lorenzo was a man of many gifts. A cook with professional-level skill, he was especially known as a master of the grill, delighting family and friends with meals that brought people together. His talents didn’t end in the kitchen—he was also a skilled carpenter, a gifted photographer, and an avid gardener who took pride in nurturing life around him. He lived with his hands and heart fully engaged in everything he did.
Lorenzo was the proud founder of Lomo Designs, his own photography company through which he captured life’s meaningful moments with artistry and care. Professionally, he also worked as a subcontractor with AARC Group, where he served as a GIS Specialist, applying his technical skills with the same dedication he gave to every role in his life.
Always active and engaged in his community, Lorenzo participated in the MS150 bike ride three times, supporting those affected by multiple sclerosis with strength and determination. He was also a proud member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving for three years on the Horspitality Committee, where he warmly welcomed rodeo guests and represented the spirit of Houston with pride.
Above all, Lorenzo cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 14 years, Erica Morales, and four children: Lorenzo, Kylie, Elissa, and Sebastian. He also leaves behind his loving parents, Austreberta and Lorenzo Morales, and his sisters, Maria Castillo and Betsy Morales, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roberto Barerra and Lionel Morales, whose memories he always carried close to his heart.
A loyal supporter of Houston’s sports teams, Lorenzo’s passion for the Houston Dynamo was unmatched—he cheered with heart and pride, no matter the season.
Lorenzo’s presence was a constant light in the lives of many. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a homemade meal, or capturing special moments through his lens, he gave generously of himself. His kindness, humility, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Lorenzo’s legacy lives on in the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he helped create. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
