Louis Joseph Butera, Jr., 70, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 in South Houston. Louis was born in Houston on October 21, 1945 to his parents, Louis Butera, Sr. and Rhoda Mae White Butera. He was a graduate of St. Pius X High School and worked for the City of Houston for 38 years. Louis loved Houston and was proud to be a Texan. He was passionate about sports and was a dedicated fan of the Astros, Oilers, Texans, and Rockets through the best and — more frequently — worst of times. He loved to make others laugh and was a master of the one-liner, corny joke, and tall tale. Louis was generous beyond measure and was always on the lookout for ways to help family and friends. He gave to others first and thought of himself last, if at all. Louis was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Pat Butera, his son, Michael Butera, daughter-in-law, Janice Butera, granddaughter, Gia Butera, his sisters Anna Butera Wilson and Angie Butera Galvan, sister-in-law, Debbie Geye, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday, June 30, beginning at 5 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale. The funeral will be on Friday, July 1, at 10 a.m. at South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena
