
uis Patrick Carr , 97, died January 30, 2014 in Hospice of Houston Hospital. He was born to Louis and Lila Carr on January 15, 1917 in Limon, Colorado and moved to Houston in 1920. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 yrs, Edith Yolland Carr, his parents and his brother, Ryals (Babe) Carr. He is survived by his 3 children, James W. Carr and wife, Ann of Hallettsville, Texas, Janet Carr of Montgomery, Texas, Kay Carr Houston of Friendswood, Texas and close friend, Rita Kimball. He is survived by 5 grandchildren, Laton Carr and wife, Mika; Kari Honeycutt McAdams and husband, Jeff; Brett Carr and wife, Courtney; and Chad Honeycutt, all of Austin, Todd Honeycutt and wife, Teresa of LaGrange, North Carolina. He has 9 great grandchildren, Malorie, Wesley, Cole and Jenna Honeycutt; Madi and Jack McAdams; James and Julie Carr; and Rylan Beth Carr.
He attended Milby HS and Rice Institute. He spent his career as a mineral lease broker and retired from Shell Oil Company His expertise was desired by many and he was coerced out of retirement and continued working for both General Crude and Sandifer Oil Companies. Louis was deeply devoted to both his faith, his family, and his life was a reflection of such. Louis was an active and faithful member of Park Place Methodist Church for many years and later a member of Westbury Methodist Church.
Private burial to be in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at Holly Hall Chapel located at 2000 Holly Hall Street and Fannin on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, Tx 77030; www.houstonhospice.org.
